The decisions we make will determine the outcome of our lives in every sphere.
Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall” (Matthew 7:26-27).
As you think about this parable and its relevance to you, remember that in Scripture a house can symbolically refer to one of four different things.
As you think about this parable and its relevance to you, remember that in Scripture a house can symbolically refer to one of four different things. Each of them is a sphere to which kingdom men should be bringing their influence.

There were two men in the parable Jesus told. Both wanted to build something lasting. Both desired personal development, familial influence, ministry impact, and societal good. Each wanted a life of significance. A family that was strong. A ministry that was effective. And a culture that was ordered well.
Yet these men pursued these goals differently, and this showed up in the results. One man built his house on the rock. His house stood. The other man built his house around a shaky foundation. His house fell hard.
So, what are you building your life around?
