Sometimes our mistakes and sins can become a lifestyle. We develop bad habits and wrong choices as a way of life. You might look back and say, “Wow, how could I have done that for that long? How could I have gotten trapped in that addiction or that scenario or that bad relationship?”
The good news of the grace of God is that He can even turn around extended stints of rebellion and sin like those of the prodigal son, who went on his way for an extended period of time wasting not only money, but his life. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve wasted your life, feeling like too much time has been lost, consider this: when you trip and fall and you find yourself behind the curve, you can’t go back to the starting block, but you can pick up the pace where you’re at. Let me encourage you to pick up the pace with God right where you are. Give God all you got, and watch Him help you make up the ground you thought you had lost because of the time that you were separated from Him.
If your sin has become a lifestyle but you also are ready to get real with God, He can take you from where you are and bring you to where He wants you to be, and you can still be a winner. In fact, your name can still be written in the Hall of Fame.
