February 2015 E-Newsletter - A note from Tony

Dear Friend,

As Hebrews 11 presents a whole chapter of those who by faith took risks with only the hope of God’s promises. It shows us how they lived by a courageous faith. Think about it:

God tells Abraham that he will have a son by Sarah, “a supernatural son,” and it’s 25 years later before Isaac is born.
David is anointed as king at around 17 years of age yet doesn’t come to the throne until 13 years later. During that time he is chased down like a dog, hiding out in caves, abandoned by his family, friends, and his boss tries to kill him.
Moses tries to do what he felt like he should in helping his people break free. Yet because his method and timing was wrong, he is run out of town and has nothing but silence from God the next 40 years.

What was God doing during these seasons in these individuals’ lives?

Abraham, He was developing into a man of faith, no matter what.
David, He was preparing him to be a king that could trust Him.
Moses, He was preparing to be a leader of a nation.

When God delays, He always delays for a greater purpose. It is in these times that He is developing us for our destinies. But it is also in those times where our faith is given the opportunity to grow. These struggles and trials can develop the faith of heroes within us, if we don’t give up.

I want to encourage you as you begin this year to keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith.
