I have entered what is called the “sandwich generation.” This is a season where 46 million of us are positioned between grown kids, grandkids and our parents. It is a season of emptynesting. Through the loss of a loved one, some have even become single again, or are trying to meet the needs of aging parents as well as growing grandkids. In the midst of all of this, it is also a season for focusing on our own personal gifts, ministries and responsibilities.
Maybe you are in the season of giving where it seems like you are needing to meet so many people’s needs. You may not want to share anymore because you’re afraid that if you do, you might not get anything back.
When we stay close to God, we start to see things His way.
But the good thing is that when we stay close to God, we start to see things His way. He lifts our hearts higher so that we can see the problems and trials we face each day in a new way. We can see the demands put on our lives, and through His vision, we are able to discern His desire in those situations. The situations haven’t changed on the ground, but we are looking at them from a higher perspective, in Him, so we can see how to respond. God promises to guide us when we focus on Him.
Why We Do What We Do
"I worked for a concrete mixing company for over 15 years as an office clerk. For many years I felt as though I should be using my talents as a graphic artist, but was afraid to do it. Listening to you on the radio for the past few years has done a lot for my faith and last year, I got a job as a graphic designer for a marketing firm. Not only that, it’s only three blocks from my house, and I can walk to work! You are such a blessing. Keep doing what you do and let the Lord do the rest. "
