Dear Friend,

God longs to be more than just theology on a shelf. He wants to be real to you right now. To accomplish this, sometimes He allows you to get in – or even puts you in – what seems like a hopeless scenario, similar to what He did with Martha and Mary and the death of their brother Lazarus, He lets something die for the express purpose of letting you experience a resurrection. He does this because He knows that when you see Him for who He really is – when you discover the character embedded in His name – you will never view life the same again.

God wants you to take this new vision of Him and view all of life differently, even the ordinary experiences that you face. He wants you to view them through spiritual eyes rather than through the eyes of a physical world that defines your existence day by day. The reason so many people are not experiencing more resurrections in their hopeless situations is because they are too earthbound, seeking to define God falsely by who they want Him to be. They are too tied to the physical definitions and expectations of God’s names that they wind up missing out on the true spiritual revelation of who He is.

Many of the issues that people face in their lives are not overcome simply because they don’t know God’s name. Keep in mind, I didn’t say they don’t use God’s name. They could use it all the time. But they don’t know God’s name as God defines Himself.

Yet, I want to assure you that no matter what you are facing today, God is a God of hope, and He will provide a way for you to experience victory in your life. But the hope and victory that you experience must be rooted in the truth of who He is. When you fix your eyes on God’s character and set your heart on the truth that what He has said about Himself and about you will come to pass, He can bring you out of even the darkest of scenarios. Unfortunately, though, so few people come to know the fullness of His hope simply because they fail to know, fear, and reverence God’s name. They fail to take Him at His Word.
