From Tony's Heart

Dear Friend,

The nineteenth-century missionary Hudson Taylor accomplished monumental things for God in China at a time when the average lifespan of a missionary in that region—due to illness or violence—was seven years. Despite these harsh realities, Hudson Taylor lived well into his seventies laying the groundwork for Christianity that has continued through this day in that land.

Much has been written about this servant’s life and travels but in his own auto-biography he tells how a shift occurred in his thinking in his mid-thirties as he came to understand the full power of the passage found in John 15. As he learned that our purpose and power comes in abiding in Christ and allowing Christ to do the work, he discovered the importance of prayer. From that time on, he wrote that he would wake up two hours prior to the day starting and spend those two hours in communion with God and in prayer. As he said, “Prayer is the work.”

Friend, I’ve witnessed the power of prayer in my own life as well, and it is the primary source of our strength, connecting us with our Lord in an intimate fashion. Prayer is the secret behind our victories. It is the path of our provision, the funnel through which we receive wisdom and revelation and the heartbeat of our hope.

The bottom line is this: Pray. If you’re tired, sick, emotionally overwhelmed—pray. If you’re on cloud nine and life seems perfect—pray. If you lack direction—pray. If you doubt that prayer makes any difference—pray. If the circumstances of your life are out of your control—pray. If the circumstances of your life seem well within your control—pray even harder. Whatever you do—pray.

I hope you’ll take the time to request this special resource we are offering this month called The Power of Prayer, as well as the new book, which I’m excited to release, called Praying Through the Names of God. Equip yourself with these tools, practice the principles in them…and then write to me and tell me what amazing things God is doing both in you and through you!

Thank you for your support. We count on faithful friends like you to buy radio and television airtime in order to continue broadcasting God’s Word to a world in need. God bless you!

Together in prayer,

TonyEvansSignature
