Woman to Woman

The words from the Psalms have always been a source of comfort and strength for me. The Psalms are filled with God’s promises to provide strength for the weak, comfort for the hurting, hope for the lost. One of my favorites is Psalm 63—it is a prayer of David, and a prayer we all can pray each day.

O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly;

My soul thirsts for You; my flesh yearns for You,

In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary,

To see Your power and Your glory.

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,

My lips will praise You.

So I will bless You as long as I live;

I will lift up my hands in Your name.

These first few verses of David’s praise serve as a reminder that praise and worship can be a source of spiritual oxygen and antioxidants to keep us spiritually healthy. In John 15:7, the apostle explains the direct correlation between our relationship with Christ and prayer. If we want to hear from God, we must be close to God—a goal which can be accomplished as we pray, praise, and worship.

I encourage you to get more enthusiastic about your personal prayer time with God.
