Lord, the only fear I need is the fear of You. In truth, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. To revere You in fear means to take You seriously. To take You seriously means to align my thoughts and actions in accordance with who You are and Your comprehensive rule over all. I walk in the knowledge that Your truth brings freedom from fear and anxiety, while the enemy’s lies seek to feed my fears—even when there is nothing to fear. Peace is found in Jesus Christ so, as I abide in Him, His peace manifests in my spirit, thoughts and choices. Overcoming fear and anxiety is done through deepening my dependence on and intimacy with Jesus, my Lord. In Christ’s name, amen.
