Dear Friend,

Many of you aren’t planning to be heroes of the faith like Abraham or Moses. You’re not looking to move mountains or split the Red Sea. You’re just trying to stay ahead of the bills. You’re trying to raise godly kids and enjoy a healthy marriage. Faith for you can be an everyday struggle as you try to believe God for miracles in the face of real-world problems.

Some of that struggle has to do with your proximity to God. A few of you go to church to be with God on Sunday but leave Him behind as soon as the sermon is done. Some of it also has to do with your obedience to God. Living for God one day of the week while living for the world the other six is just a bad recipe.

Noah walked with God. What does that mean? It means that in every aspect of Noah’s life, God was front and center. When he needed to feed his family, he turned to God. When the world around him got nasty, he prayed. In fact, the Bible tells us that Noah was walking with God when no one else was (Genesis 6:7-8).

So, God told Noah that a great flood was coming. He commanded him to build a giant ark, large enough for his family and thousands of animals. In other words, Noah was commanded to do something astounding based on an event that had not yet happened. Fortunately for all of us, Noah obeyed God and became an heir of righteousness (Hebrews 11:7).

Obeying God is much easier when we’ve made Him the central focus of our lives. Noah’s story is one of many that demonstrate the power of God in response to an active faith. You sure do hit the spot! Me and my wife try to listen on the weekends but even if not, we can catch it on the website. Very blessed!

You know, our two girls are married and sure have been having a hard time. One husband is a soldier and is always gone, and she stays at home with four kids. The other has been separated for over a year. But we believe God works miracles, and we pray for them all the time, since they live so far away and we can’t do much else.

Anyway, we got a phone call from our youngest, and she and her husband have decided to reconcile and are meeting with a minister for counseling. On the SAME day, our other daughter calls us and tells us that she has found a wonderful, godly group of women to offer support and help while her husband is in Afghanistan for another four months. PRAISE THE LORD!

God takes care of us in so many ways. We just wanted to let you know about answered prayer."
