Hi, I'm Josiah DeWitte. I’m 14 years old and a big fan of Tony Evans. One of the books that I’ve really been impacted by is Watch Your Mouth because it helped me realize that everything I say matters to God. In fact, not speaking up can be just as devastating as saying the wrong thing.
One day, my family and I were on vacation at a resort where we ran into pop star Justin Bieber.
I saw him there, and I thought, “This is so awesome. Maybe I could talk to him.”
I started walking back up to the hotel room, and as I started to leave, he started to leave. He ended up coming over to me, and he put his arm around me! Then it occurred to me; I could share the gospel with him. So, I started to ask him about his faith, since I’d heard that recently he had been getting back into some of that. He told me that he had and that he was really into it now. He’d even been singing with Hillsong Worship Band.
I need to always seize the opportunity.
Then, he asked me what preachers I liked. I, of course, decided to tell him about Dr. Tony Evans. He said, “Wow, that sounds amazing. I’ll have to look into him.”
I said, “It was nice to meet you,” and we high-fived, and then I walked back to the hotel room. It was such an awesome experience.
The next day, I saw him again as we headed up to our room. Again, he came over to me and said, “Hey man, how’s it going? I was thinking, and I want to know the name of that preacher again; I forgot it.” I reminded him.
He said, “That’s great, I am going to have to look him up.” I saw him get out his phone to look him up. But I felt that he was really impacted by it because if he wasn’t, he would have forgotten. The fact that he even remembered it told me it was really powerful and that I had an impact.
It really makes me aware that everywhere I go, I am on mission and that I need to always seize the opportunity to share the gospel. That requires opening my mouth and talking to someone.
When God uses you, you feel this overwhelming sense of satisfaction, because the only thing we have to live for is advancing His kingdom. And once you’ve started doing that, you’ll know that you’ve helped someone along in their walk.
Why We Do What We Do
"Dr. Evans,
This is a brief message to inform you that I am a social studies teacher at SF Christian Schools in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I strongly believe in your ministry and what it means for millions of people around this world. I do my very best to read your devotions and/or show your video clips to my students on a daily basis. Your devotions have had a great impact on the students and myself, and I am very pleased that all of your devotions are always Bible-driven and very relevant to all, especially my young adults here at SFC Schools. Thanks for being such a great Christian example for myself and ALL of my students."

"Hello, Dr. Evans,
My name is Malik. I live in Los Angeles, CA, and I am a worship leader at Oasis Church. I just completed a study group with some powerful men of God on your powerful curriculum, Kingdom Man. This has transformed our vision of manhood to be more in line with God’s plan. Thank you, sir. We are now charged to become stronger leaders in our church and community."
