A Note from Tony Evans

When you’re hungry, you don’t stop eating until you’re satisfied. I have both a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter delivering precious babies this year. And witnessing this experience, it never ceases to amaze me all of the strange food cravings women have while they’re pregnant. I remember Lois getting incredibly hungry in the middle of the night when she was pregnant. Hunger can even wake you up!

We all have had our own unique relationships with food... simple hunger, food cravings, snack attacks, waiting a long time for a table at a popular restaurant to enjoy one of our favorite meals. In order to make hunger go away, we must eat something. The principle doesn’t just apply to physical life; it works the same in the spirit too.

In order to satisfy our spiritual hunger,
we’ve got to go to God.

The Bible is full of stories of men and women who hungered for God, yearning for an encounter with the one true living God, longing for a breakthrough in their lives, relentlessly seeking God’s divine intervention for personal development and growth.

Today, your issue could be the heartbreak from a disobedient child who’s turned a rebellious back on God. Your issue could be a struggling marriage that is weighing heavily on your spirit. Your challenge could be living with a debilitating illness or with the financial mountain of losing your job or falling behind on your mortgage. No matter what you’re facing, your hope is found in one true source.

You don’t need a temporary bailout from man...
you need the supernatural power of a loving God!

Whatever you’re dealing with today, I encourage you to keep pursuing our covenant-keeping God with all your heart, mind, and spirit. Don’t let your schedule keep you back. When you’re really hungry, you don’t stop until you’re satisfied.

David wrote, “They who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing” (Psalm 34:10). If you want “good things” from the Lord, you’ve got to be hungry enough to SEEK Him and EXPECT good things.

Believe me when I say challenges and trials come into our lives to build our appetite or hunger for God! Only when we’re desperate, when we’re starving, do we realize that nothing else will satisfy our soul’s longing other than a deep experience with God.

At The Urban Alternative, our mission is to equip you with what you need to fully live out your deepest experience of God. We do this through our daily radio broadcast and our weekly television message. We also provide a plethora of free online resources, such as eBook downloads, inspiration moments, prayer guides, and more. Thank you for standing with us in giving and in prayer, so we can deliver all of this spiritual food to you - and to the rest of the world. And be sure to request the CD series, The Spiritual Toolkit, with your gift of any amount this month. God bless you as you seek and serve the Lord!

For the King and His kingdom,

Tony Evans

Testimony Time

“Dr. Evans, you changed my life and my view of who God is in a message on Houston's KSBJ Radio. In fact, I pulled my car over and wept out loud for ten minutes. When I heard your message, I became completely free. I understood His unconditional love, hearing my every prayer and word. Praise God for that day and for your messages. Yours in Christ!”

“Brother Evans: God has used you and TUA to speak into my family's life. We're very grateful. We pray blessings and grace come to you and the ministry that God has entrusted to you.”

“Dr. Evans: for the past two months, God has been using your sermons on my local radio station (WORD-FM) to humble me, make me more teachable, use me to share with others, lift me up, and give me hope in totally hopeless circumstances. He loves when we find Him!”
