Stop the Comparisons

Stop the Comparisons

On several of my shirts, I have my initials sewn onto the cuff—A.T.E. There will never be a question about whose shirts those are because my initials demonstrate that they are my shirts. I do this on the shirts that I have personally customized for me.

Now I have a number of other shirts that were bought off the rack. A lot of people could possibly claim that they also have shirts just like them, and they would be right. But they wouldn’t be able to claim that about the shirts with my initials sewn in because those shirts were custom-made.

When something is custom-made it means it’s fitted to your uniqueness. It has been crafted with you in mind. That means it’s not for everyone else to wear.

A life of destiny is where you measure what you have done compared to what you were created to do.

We are all unique. We are all custom-made. There is no reason to try to be someone else or to live someone else’s life. Why settle for off-the-rack living when there is an identity and destiny custom-made for you? Living out your destiny is not a life whereby you measure who you are compared to who someone else is. Nor is it a life where you measure what you have done compared to what someone else has done. A life of destiny is where you measure what you have done compared to what you were created to do.

There is only one you—and you are it.

Yet too many people spend so much of their lives trying to be somebody else. “Why try to be somebody else, though?” is a question I always ask. God already has one of them. There is only one you—and you are it. One of the first steps to living out your destiny comes in realizing it’s YOUR destiny. God made you unique on purpose because He has a plan that only your personality, background, temperament, mindset, skills and all else can fulfill. Embrace you—stop the comparisons. Halt the competitions. Let go of the jealousy, envy or regret. Be the you God made you to be, and you will be on your way to manifesting within you the purpose God has created you to fulfill.

You Can Make a Difference in Society | Tony Evans

I recall a time when I had some serious ant hills on my front lawn. As these ants served their queen, they built mounds on my lawn, turning a once-green lawn into a place of foreign habitation. They were building their own kingdom on my lawn, so I needed to address their presence. If I didn’t...
