Waiting

Commit yourself to the Lord; let Him deliver him; let Him rescue him, because He delights in him. – Psalm 22:8

It always is best to place our faith and trust in God. No matter what the situation may be, we can’t lose when the focus of our heart is set on Jesus.

If anyone knew what it felt like to be in a bad situation, David certainly did. The Lord had promised that one day he would become king of Israel. However, this promise did not immediately materialize. Sometimes we must wait a long time in order to actually see the goodness of the Lord.

David waited many heart-pounding years before he claimed Israel’s throne. However, during these years of extreme trials and victories, he learned to trust God.

You also may be waiting to see God’s deliverance or the fulfillment of His promise to you. If this is the case, be patient and willing to wait for His perfect timing. You won’t be disappointed. He knows exactly when you have learned all you need to know in order to take the next step forward in your walk of faith with Him.

Deliverance eventually came to David. And when you wait on the Lord, you will have the opportunity to see Him come through for you as well. There will be times of tremendous trial, but there will also be seasons of great joy filled to overflowing with God’s goodness and intimate love when you trust Him.
